EARTH HOUR 2020

Around the world the lights will go out again on 28 March at 20:30!

The WWF EARTH HOUR is a simple idea that has developed into one of the world’s largest climate protection campaigns over the last decade: Every year, millions of people turn off the lights for one hour on the last Saturday in March – all over the planet. And last time the WWF Earth Hour was again a complete success!

Lights went out for an hour at thousands of landmarks around the globe to draw attention to the urgency of more climate and species protection. Among the landmarks were the Opera House in Sydney, the Empire State Building in New York, the Eiffel Tower in Paris, Big Ben in London, the pyramids in Egypt and the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin.

Also in Austria, in addition to numerous companies, municipalities and provincial capitals, sights such as the Vienna Hofburg, the opera in Graz, the Golden Roof in Innsbruck and the Lindwurm in Klagenfurt turned off their lighting for an hour.
