This website is operated by Generation Earth c.o. Umweltverband WWF Österreich, Ottakringer Straße 114-116, 1160 Vienna, Austria (“we” or “us”). This message describes how we, as the organization responsible for data protection, process your personal data. We differentiate between the following areas:
Newsletter
1. Data categories
We process the following categories of data:
- master data
- contact details
- communication history
2. Purpose of the processing
We use this data to prepare and send out newsletters. For this purpose we store your data in an electronic database.
3. Legal basis
The legal basis for processing your personal data is your consent according to Art. 6 (1) lit. a DSGVO.
4. Revocation
You can sign up for our newsletter on this website. Of course, with every newsletter/email sent by us, you have the mandatory option to immediately and easily unsubscribe from receiving the newsletter.

Your e-mail address, your first and last name and your title will be stored as long as you have subscribed to the newsletter. After unsubscribing from the newsletter mailing, your data will be deleted after a transition period of 7 days. Further storage without newsletter sending permission may occur in individual cases if this is required by law or the data is still needed for other still active processing operations.
Website
1. Data categories
When you access this website, your IP address is stored in log files. We use this information to evaluate the use of the site and thereby further optimize our website for you – these files are neither stored in our database nor used in any way. The IP address is the worldwide valid, unique identification of a computer and consists of four number blocks separated by dots. Usually, as a private user, you will not use a constant IP address, as your provider will only assign it to you temporarily for a session. Nevertheless, a clear assignment of user data via this feature is possible in principle for static IP addresses. We can only link your IP address to your user data by “manual” research. We only use this in exceptional cases when we have to prevent misuse and fraud and deny access to individual IP addresses.
2. Purposes of data processing
We will process your personal data in particular for the following purposes:
- to provide you with this website and to further improve and develop this website
- to create usage statistics
- to detect, prevent and investigate attacks on our website.
3. Legal basis of the processing
The legal basis for the processing of your personal data is our overriding legitimate interest (pursuant to Art 6 para 1 lit f EU General Data Protection Regulation), which consists of achieving the purposes mentioned above under point 2.
4. Storage period
The aforementioned data for displaying the website will be deleted by us after one month. The collection of the data for the provision of the website and the storage of the data in log files is mandatory for the operation of the website. Consequently, there is no possibility of objection on the part of the user. Further storage may take place in individual cases if this is required by law.
Contact forms
1. Scope and purpose of data processing
On our website, we offer you the opportunity to contact us via secure forms provided. As part of the process of sending your request via these contact forms, reference is made to this privacy policy in order to obtain your consent. If you make use of the contact forms, the following personal data of you will be processed, depending on the reason selected:

- First and last name
- e-mail address
- Telephone number
- event/project related information
This information is used to process your request. When using the contact form, your personal data will not be passed on to third parties.
2. legal basis
The aforementioned data processing for the purpose of contacting you is based on the consent voluntarily given by you in accordance with Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. a DSGVO.
3. storage period
The personal data processed via the contact form will be deleted no later than one month after the request you have made has been dealt with and the relevant facts have been conclusively clarified. Further storage may take place in individual cases if this is required by law or serves to protect a legitimate interest of our organization.
E-mail contact
1. scope and purpose of data processing
If you contact us by e-mail, the data you provide will be used for the purpose of processing your inquiry. We will not pass this on to third parties without your consent.
2. legal basis
The legal basis for responding to inquiries (e-mail) is, depending on the facts of the case, your implied consent according to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a DSGVO or the implementation of pre-contractual measures according to (Art. 6 para. 1 b DSGVO).
3. storage period
Your data will be stored by us for six months from the time we answer your question in the event of follow-up questions. Once your inquiry has been dealt with and the matter in question has been conclusively clarified, your personal data will be deleted. Further storage may take place in individual cases if this is required by law or serves to protect a legitimate interest of our organization.
General terms and conditions

We therefore only work together with service providers who offer sufficient guarantees that suitable technical and organisational measures are carried out in such a way that the processing takes place in accordance with the requirements of the data protection regulations and guarantees the protection of your rights.
Duration of storage
We process your personal data, if available and as far as necessary for the purposes mentioned, up to your objection, as well as beyond that in accordance with the legal storage and documentation obligations, which result among other things from the Federal Fiscal Code.
In any case, if you fill in a form on our website, we will store your data for as long as we need your data to carry out the requested activity and thereafter only for as long as required by law.

Use of social plugins
Our website uses so-called social plugins (“plugins”) of the social network Facebook, which is operated by Facebook Inc, 1601 S. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA (“Facebook”). The plugins are marked with a Facebook logo or the addition “Facebook Social Plug-in” or “Facebook Social Plugin”. An overview of the Facebook plugins and their appearance can be found here: https://developers.facebook.com/docs/plugins.
When you access a page of our website that contains such a plugin, your browser establishes a direct connection to the Facebook servers. The content of the plugin is transmitted directly from Facebook to your browser and integrated into the page. Through this integration Facebook receives the information that your browser has called up the corresponding page of our website, even if you do not have a Facebook profile or are not currently logged on to Facebook. This information (including your IP address) is transmitted directly from your browser to a Facebook server in the USA and stored there.
If you are logged in to Facebook, Facebook can immediately associate your visit to our website with your Facebook profile. If you interact with the plugins, for example by clicking the “I like” button or making a comment, this information is also transmitted directly to a Facebook server and stored there. The information is also published on your Facebook profile and displayed to your Facebook friends.
For the purpose and scope of data collection and the further processing and use of the data by Facebook as well as your rights and setting options for the protection of your privacy, please refer to the Facebook data protection information: http://www.facebook.com/policy.php.
If you do not want Facebook to associate the data collected via our website directly with your Facebook profile, you must log out of Facebook before visiting our website. You can also completely prevent the Facebook plugins from loading with add-ons for your browser, e.g. the Facebook Blocker.

The plugins are marked with a Twitter logo, for example in the form of a blue “Twitter bird”. An overview of the Twitter plugins and their appearance can be found here: https://twitter.com/about/resources/buttons.
When you access a page of our website that contains such a plugin, your browser establishes a direct connection to Twitter’s servers. The content of the plugin is transmitted directly from Twitter to your browser and integrated into the page. The integration gives Twitter the information that your browser has called up the corresponding page of our website, even if you do not have a Twitter profile or are not currently logged in to Twitter. This information (including your IP address) is transmitted directly from your browser to a Twitter server in the USA and stored there.
If you are logged in to Twitter, Twitter can immediately associate your visit to our website with your Twitter account. If you interact with the plugins, for example by pressing the “Twitter” button, the corresponding information is also transmitted directly to a Twitter server and stored there. The information will also be published on your Twitter account and displayed to your contacts.
The purpose and scope of the data collection and the further processing and use of the data by Twitter as well as your relevant rights and setting options for the protection of your privacy can be found in the Twitter data protection information: https://twitter.com/privacy.
