You’re what you eat… or rather what you throw away?
On Friday, April 14th, it was time for Umgedacht again, the young radio show of Generation Earth. We deal with topics around environmental and climate protection, activism and much more. We offer initiatives and exciting individuals the opportunity to introduce themselves and share with us what moves them.
Food is precious, as we all know. The fact that around one-third of all food produced worldwide is more likely not to end up in garbage. This amount would be enough to feed all the world’s starving people. Reason enough to dedicate a whole show to the topic’ food waste’.
In spite of the rather serious topic, it became, thanks to our studio guests, a relaxed and very interesting show. The culinary music has done its part, and in the end we got our own appetite for more during the many talks about food.
Walter von foodsharing and Roman, a passionate dumpster diver, were guests in the studio. Walter has been working at MA48 for about 30 years and has already saved more than 23 tons of food through foodsharing. Roman has been living almost exclusively from dumping for years and has had several encounters with the police.
One can well imagine that they have a lot to tell. If you want to know what they have told us, listen to the show and join us next time when it’s time to switch on: Umedacht – The young radio show for a sustainable future.
